Publisher Description
The Bachelor meets The Runaway Bride in this addictive romance novel about a reality TV producer falling for her would-be star: a Montana heartthrob who wants nothing to do with the show.
“Quintessential Lauren Layne goodness—a sassy, feel-good and entertaining love story infused with laughter, sizzling chemistry and heartfelt romance.”—USA Today
Jordan Carpenter thinks she’s finally found the perfect candidate for Jilted, a new dating show about runaway grooms: firefighter Luke Elliott, a known player who’s left not one but three brides at the altar. The only problem? Luke refuses to answer Jordan’s emails or return her calls. Which is how she ends up on a flight to Montana to recruit him in person. It’s not Manhattan, but at least the locals in Lucky Hollow seem friendly . . . except for Luke, who’s more intense—and way hotter—than the slick womanizer Jordan expected.
Eager to put the past behind him, Luke has zero intention of following this gorgeous, fast-talking city girl back to New York. But before he can send her packing, Jordan’s everywhere: at his favorite bar, the county fair, even his exes’ book club. Annoyingly, everyone in Lucky Hollow seems to like her—and deep down, she’s starting to grow on him too. But the more he fights her constant pestering, the more Luke finds himself wishing that Jordan would kick off her high heels and make herself comfortable in his arms.

As huge fans of The Bachelor, we were totally smitten by this romance set against the backdrop of a TV dating show. Producer Jordan Carpenter has found the perfect star for her show Jilted: sexy firefighter Luke Elliott. Luke has left three brides at the altar, and Jordan's show is going to convince him that the fourth time is the charm—until Jordan starts to fall for the runaway groom herself. A small-town Montana setting and quirky cast of characters round out this adorable rom-com.
PUBLISHERS WEEKLY
Layne (I Knew You Were Trouble) gives a nod to Runaway Bride and The Bachelor with this clever romance set in Lucky Hollow, Mont. Fireman Luke Elliott likes the small-town life; people all know one another's business but everyone is polite and respectful. He's outraged when a city slicker barges in, digs into the reasons for his three failed engagements, and tries to convince him to be on a reality show called Jilted. Associate producer Jordan Carpenter is hungry for a promotion, and she thinks getting Luke to do the show is the key; with the help of her stellar BFF, Simon, she hatches her plan. Luke guards his heart as well as he does his secrets, but his defenses are no match for Jordan's charm. His generosity and loyalty win her heart, and gradually he learns she's not the "vulture in high heels" he took her for. When her boss starts to push Jordan to reveal Luke's hidden past, she has a tough decision to make. Luke's secrets create just enough suspense, the revelations are smooth, and the characters and setting are delightful.

Fun start to a new series
Ready to Run is a fun read about finding love in unexpected places.
Luke our hero and Jordan our heroine are introduced as adversaries, more or less, but I liked both characters from the start. Their journey from people who didn't get along to romantic partners was a pleasure to read. Also, the town itself is a great place and the townspeople are all really fun and add an extra layer of interest to the book.
I am looking forward to more books in this series and I would recommend this book to anyone who enjoys contemporary romance.
I received an ARC in exchange of an honest review.
Great story! Lauren Layne never fails!!!

Ready For More!!
First of all, I bought the book and it was well worth it. Jordan and Luke's story had mystery, intrigue, mild heat and a wonderful supporting cast. The story moved along at a fast pace.
The small town/big city aspect of the story was really relatable as I grew up in a small town and moved to a large urban area where I currently live.
If you buy this book, I don't think you will be disappointed. Can't wait for the next book in this series.
