Red Eve

Haggard wrote the story „Red Eve” in six months. In it, we meet Sir Hugh de Cressi, the son of a merchant who is in love with Eve. She, too, is in love with him, but a traitor knight Sir Edmund Acour is caring for her. He realizes that he cannot conquer her feelings and gives her a potion. The result is that she did marry him.
