Publisher Description
A third of the world's population are cursed to become werewolves on the full moon, and walled cities like Seattle protect the Clean Bloods. People like Detective Daria McQueen defend the gates of the city to stand against the packs of wolves, three nights a month.
Daria discovers a breach in the wall while on her patrol, and saves a family from infection by three hungry wolves. Daria herself is saved by a Wolf Hunter she had believed to be nothing but an urban legend, the Red Hood, Maireni Damaschin. The mysterious woman in a red cloak seems to possess inhuman abilities.
Daria and Maireni find themselves caught in a tangled web of deception that goes back centuries, which could spell the end to Clean Bloods and throw the world into servitude.

Fab Updated Fairytale for Adults
Enjoyed the twist on the concept of little red riding hood: an updated fairytale with mystery and romance that adults can enjoy. The first book in this new series by Erik Schubach spends most of the story introducing the back story, main characters, developing interactions/relationship between the main characters, and opening bits leading to more stories for the series. I have been a fan of his MOTS series for a long time, but haven’t gotten into his others series as much as they were harder to follow the underlying concepts. However, with this series, he has created a enchanting storyline that I can follow without taking notes and characters that I want to hear more about. Will definitely be following this series.
Pretty Good
Admittedly it could use some more edits. But all told the story is strong, the characters are believable and real within the world created, the lore is consistent and the twists striking. The romance is palpable and rings true. I enjoyed this.
Fantastic spin on a beloved fairytale!
Everyone loves a good old fairytale but Eric Schubach has taken it to a whole new level with a twist.
You have a big bad wolf and a red hood, but let's just make the wolf a little more scary and turn him into a werewolf and the red hood well it chooses who wears it.
The story line is fantastic and the characters will have you falling in love with them over and over again.
