Twelve-year-old Josef is fleeing Nazi Germany on a ship headed for Cuba in 1939; in 1994, 11-year-old Isabel leaves Cuba for the United States aboard a boat; and 12-year-old Mahmoud leaves Syria in 2015 after a bomb destroys his family's apartment building. Amazing!!!
This book is truly amazing. I was never that interested in reading but when I read Refugee, I just couldn’t put it down. I loved the cliffhangers, different pov’s, and problems it just made the book even better. I loved how I felt the emotions the characters were feeling and going through. I would definitely recommend. This is one of the best books I have ever read.
