Publisher Description
A new job. A vampire conspiracy. And a werewolf who's far too close for comfort.
All I wanted was a fresh start—something normal, something quiet. Instead, I'm working for a corporation run by vampires, trying to ignore the way my undead bosses are hiding something... deadly. Werewolves are vanishing, and I may be the only one who can connect the dots before the balance between species collapses.
Unfortunately, I'm not working alone.
Tobias Somfield—English, infuriating, and very much a werewolf—is now sleeping on my couch. I rescued him once. I don't intend to do it again. But the more time we spend together, the harder it is to pretend the tension between us doesn't mean something.
Relinquished is a moody, magic-laced urban fantasy about trust, power, and the thin line between enemies and allies. Perfect for fans of slow-burn supernatural romance, secret worlds, and heroines who'd rather stake first and ask questions later.
Customer Reviews
Must read book 1 first.
“I shot some courage into my spine and reminded myself that not only did I have my big girl underwear on, but that was the only kind I owned.”
WOW. I am such a fangirl now! Geri is strong, self-assured, and doesn’t let obstacles like a sword in the gut stop her. Yet she still has so much love and compassion for her friends that I love them too.
Each character, no matter how small, seems like a real person. Tobias really tugs my heart strings after losing his mate; his tortured need to get revenge to justify his life. Inga and Igor, the vampires who are trying to save…well, their fountain of youth, really. I feel bad for the last slayer, who is such a flirt but is stuck alone in a gilded cage he allowed:
“Those who would exchange their freedom for security deserve neither.” Kendra Meeks snuck the theme right into the action. It is a testimony to good writing that you can enjoy the plot without ever realizing that one theme explores what it means to have safety over freedom.
I normally read the first novel in a series or a standalone, but was so entranced by the first novel I bought and read the second one in a couple of days! And I might buy the third tomorrow. I loved it
