Return to the Chesapeake Bay, where broken hearts find ways to heal.
Ria and Drew Martin’s chemistry had always kept their marriage together—until suddenly it didn’t. Now a single mom, hotel manager Ria is at a loss when one of her teen daughters starts spiraling. Panicked, she calls on her estranged ex-husband for backup, but she’s not prepared for the man he’s become—or the unresolved emotions that still linger between them.
After his divorce, Drew pulled away from everyone when he lost his eyesight and his job on the police force. Now that he’s realized how much his daughters need their dad, Drew is determined to make things up to them. He’s less sure where he stands with Ria. They had real reasons for ending their marriage, but they’ve both changed during their time apart. And being with her again in the place where they first fell in love brings back memories of all that they once had. Can they overcome their past to reunite their family, this time forever?

McClain revisits idyllic Pleasant Shores, Md., in the intense, heartfelt second Off Season romance (after Cottage at the Beach). Ria Martin, a single mother of two, can't get through to her troubled 14-year-old daughter, Kaitlyn, and hopes that her ex-husband, Drew, a cop, can make some headway. When her calls to him go directly to a full voicemail, she makes the two-hour drive to Baltimore to give him a piece of her mind about the need for his increased involvement in their daughters' lives. Once there, she's shocked to discover that Drew was injured on the job and has gone blind. Drew travels back to Pleasant Shores with Ria, nervous about navigating the town without his sight, but eager to reconnect with his daughters. But neither Ria nor Drew understand how bad things have gotten for Kaitlyn until a suicide attempt lands her in the hospital. Ria and Drew are equally determined to help their daughters and make their family whole again, leading to a rekindling of old feelings. Readers will appreciate McClain's sensitive handling of love that springs from heavy emotions and hardship.

REUNION AT THE SHORE...Lee Tobin McClain
A mother’s fear for her teenage daughter and feeling helpless. The school has called again, her grades have been slipping, a daddy’s girl, and he wasn’t around. For Kaitlyn the kids teasing her, it was small private school, but the gossip was unbearable for her.
To bring Drew back and see what he could do.for Kaitlyn. Driving back to the old neighborhood, the memories of happy days. The police station, told her he was on leave. Now seeing him with a cane, a head injury he said.
He missed them, his girls, especially Kaitlyn, his marriage. How could he navigate, it still was too soon.
A mom, a grandmother knew what was needed, seeing a smile in Kaitlyn face, gave her the courage to contact Drew herself without asking Ria, her daughter.
A beautiful story of a family drawing together once again, the need and hope was there. The memories they had shared to rebuild on that. Well done, good flowing plot that draws you into the story. Given ARC for my voluntary review and my honest opinion
