Wow, what a cliffhanger! What can I say—this book is simply phenomenal. This dark and edgy romance BLEW...MY…MIND—a 5++ star if I could! Well, if you read books 1 & 2, you met Edward Fasbender who is the devil in disguise and a number 1 grade alpha-hole, but now my perception of Edward has changed—now I am swooning over this sexy man! I grappled with Edward’s change towards Celia because I wanted to continue loathing him as the devil in disguise. Edward and Celia are back in London after Celia spent two years on the private island. Despite the tumultuous events that brought Edward and Celia together, Celia believed she had found her happily-ever-after with Edward, the love of her life. Soon, however, things begin to fall apart. Feelings are overwhelmed by Edward’s possessiveness, control, and need for revenge of those who have wronged him and especially Celia. Celia finds herself at a crossroads when she confronts Edward. What happens next—let the games play? This book is letting you know what to expect later—the anticipation of the next book will be really succulent, but it is sure to be a hot as hell, sexy, and intriguing dark romance!! The story has a revenge plot, outlined to make you question everything. Second guessing motives and characters. There are several twists and turns within the story that makes it interesting. The storyline is fluid, and the characters are extremely well developed. Laurelin Paige, you did it by constructing a deliciously edgy romance that is stupendous and will lure you into the wee hours and beyond that you will not be able to put this book down. I highly recommend this book!!
Edward and Celia’s Story is a Must Read
I love this couple! Edward and Celia started off rocky in book one. Twists and turns of the story bring Edward around to avenging people in his and Celia’s life. I once hated Celia’s character, and now I understand why she was so awful. Edward is her match at playing games and they have been playing with fire the whole series. This is book three of four in her series I cannot wait for book four to see where this ends!
My favorite installment of the Slay Quartet so far!
Wow. Wow. Wow. Revenge was a sexy, riveting, and suspenseful third installment in the Slay Quartet, and has been my favorite of the series so far. A lot transpired in Revenge, and I was captivated from beginning to end.
I once again loved Laurelin Paige’s writing style, and that she finally gave readers more chapters from Edward’s perspective. I loved delving deeper into his character and discovering what motivated him to be the man he is today. Some of the questions I had from the previous two books were answered in Revenge, but there were still several things left up in the air (which I obviously expected), and I very much look forward to continuing/finishing Edward and Celia’s story in Rising.
