From the New York Times bestselling author of Crazy Rich Asians (the basis for the acclaimed major motion picture) and China Rich Girlfriend, here is the uproarious conclusion to the Crazy Rich Asians trilogy.
Book Three of the Crazy Rich Asians Trilogy
When Nicholas Young hears that his grandmother, Su Yi, is on her deathbed, he rushes to be by her bedside—but he's not alone. The entire Shang-Young clan has convened from all corners of the globe to stake claim on their matriarch’s massive fortune. With each family member vying to inherit Tyersall Park—a trophy estate on 64 prime acres in the heart of Singapore—Nicholas’s childhood home turns into a hotbed of speculation and sabotage.
As her relatives fight over heirlooms, Astrid Leong is at the center of her own storm, desperately in love with her old sweetheart Charlie Wu, but tormented by her ex-husband—a man hell bent on destroying Astrid’s reputation and relationship. Meanwhile Kitty Pong, married to China’s second richest man, billionaire Jack Bing, still feels second best next to her new step-daughter, famous fashionista Colette Bing.
A sweeping novel that takes us from the elegantly appointed mansions of Manila to the secluded private islands in the Sulu Sea, from a kidnapping at Hong Kong’s most elite private school to a surprise marriage proposal at an Indian palace, caught on camera by the telephoto lenses of paparazzi, Kevin Kwan's hilarious, gloriously wicked new novel reveals the long-buried secrets of Asia's most privileged families and their rich people problems.

APPLE BOOKS REVIEW
Kevin Kwan proved himself a master of satire with Crazy Rich Asians and China Rich Girlfriend, giddily skewering the lifestyles of Asia’s rich and famous. Rich People Problems is the trilogy's entertaining closer, chronicling three clans as they battle mercilessly to inherit a sprawling Singaporean mansion while the estate's aging grand dame lies on her deathbed. New readers to the series won’t feel lost; Kwan introduces every character in elaborate detail. His sharp, witty observations on the fabulously wealthy are as exquisitely crafted as his characters’ luxury designer clothes.
The winning third novel (after 2015's China Rich Girlfriend) in Kwan's trilogy about elite Asian families focuses on the impending death of matriarch Shang Su Yi and the fate of the family estate, Tyersall Park in Singapore, amid plenty of gossip, scheming, and cattiness among the book's status-conscious players. Nick Young is living in New York, estranged from Su Yi the beloved grandmother who raised him since she deemed his then-girlfriend, Rachel Chu, unfit for him. Nick's cousin Astrid Leong, though also favored by Su Yi, is on the outs with her family after Isabel the unstable ex-wife of Astrid's beau, Charlie Young causes a public spectacle that soils the Leong name. When it becomes clear that Su Yi is near death, status-climbing Eddie Cheng, Nick's cousin, plots to keep Astrid and Nick from her deathbed while hoping to claim Tyersall Park for himself. Kwan's writing is lively and witty, and he has a gift for peppering his narrative with telling detail. His complicated plot never flags, even in the less-intriguing scenes that showcase Astrid's gooey illicit romance. The author is at his best when he's unveiling this rarefied world and pitting the stature-obsessed with their more humble counterparts; this comes to a satisfying crescendo as the fate of Tyersall Park is decided.
Fun, interesting and very enjoyable
I've read Kevin's first two books and this one was just as good. Maybe better! As an American who lived in Asia for 30 years I loved the description of the cities and area. Very accurate and certainly made me nostalgic. His characters are fabulous and reminded me of many Asians I've known while working in Hong Kong and traveling the region. Except the ones in Kevin's books talk billions and not millions! I think Kevin is an extremely good writer and he's created a page turner series of books. His first 3 books are so funny and impossible to put down. And I really like the way he's developed so many interesting characters who flow smoothly from book to book. The only error I noticed was when he mentioned a 12 hole golf course. But love his characters and waiting for more! Highly recommend Kevin's 3rd book....get it now!
A pleasure to read
If you enjoyed the first two books, this was just as entertaining.
Laughed out loud
Loved this book. The whole series was just incredible. Easy, fun read! I'm ready to visit Asia.
