Ridge

One mission. One room. One bed. And a mate who doesn't know what to do with any of it.

Kael never expected to leave Starhaven. Now, he's in the human world, with all its staring strangers and overwhelming everything. And he definitely never expected Ridge, who's quiet, dangerous, and apparently his mate, whether Kael's ready for that or not.

Ridge has spent weeks giving his mate space and watching Kael run every time he got too close. When a council mission throws them together for days in an isolated demon town, running stops being an option.

 For both of them.

But proximity isn't the same as acceptance, and a bond between a shifter and a demon who doesn't quite believe he should have one won't build itself.

They'll have to do that part themselves, and it's the hardest one.
