This is the story of a boy and his weasel, a bird and a snake, India and the British Empire.  Rudyard Kipling's dramatic tale, here excerpted from the greater volume of The Jungle Book, is the story of the loyal mongoose, Rikk-Tikki-Tavi, and the lengths to which he must go to protect his adoptive human family.

Awesome book

I read this book in language arts class and I loved it

Still great after all these years!

I remember - vaguely - watching rikki tikki tavi on tv as a child. Now in my 40's I so enjoyed reading it for the first time. Though my children are teenagers, we still read stories together, and this will be our next.

So wise, so proud, so fast is he - no hood can strike nor krait assail - brave Rikki Tikki Tavi !!!

Classic

My mother read this to me as a child so being able to read it to my kids is great. But the story description is incorrect. He's a mongoose not a weasel. :)
