APPLE BOOKS REVIEW
In this international thriller, the murder of an undercover operative sheds light on a covert Chinese offensive. After the assassination of an old colleague, American superspy Scot Harvath is sent to the troubled border of India and China to investigate. Joining forces with a retired Indian cop, Harvath soon realizes that he and his wisecracking comrade must face off against Asia’s largest superpower to solve the murder—and defend democracy. Brad Thor’s exceptional talent for crafting riveting fiction out of real global issues puts us right in the center of this political maelstrom, leading to an explosive climax. This is one breathless thriller.
Customer Reviews
Pretty solid
I thought this was a pretty good entry. It certainly takes place in a country we don’t see often in thrillers and it brought something unique to the story. I still have issues with characters and their development or lack there of (every hero seems to like funk, is a patriot and thinks the same way). If we could just get some characters with differences it would make this series stand out.
Big plot flaw
That a criminal with a large organization wouldn’t have the killed the cop (who helped Harvath) that crippled him years before is ludicrous.
