Risky Schemes

A twice rejected duke. A quiet country miss. And family that would keep them apart.

Miss Beatrice Dorset's life looks different than she imagined. With the loss of her mother, her father's ever worsening illness, and a brother intent to choose the wrong path in life, the world feels like it is on her shoulders alone. So, when the Duke of Ashford, a seldom known neighbor, visits Dorset House offering help, Beatrice immediately pushes him away to protect her sanity - even if her heart wishes for him to stay forever.

Graham Wallace, the Duke of Ashford, has known his own fair share of disappointment in life. But, most recently, his disappointment stems from two failed seasons, two failed courtships, and two heartbreaks. With continued rumors of his own past ill deeds, Graham must confront his past and present if he is to win the heart of Miss Dorset, against her family's wishes. As they battle the gambling underbelly of London, Graham and Beatrice are forced to remember one thing: their love transcends every obstacle.

Risky Schemes is the second installment of the Schemes series set in Regency England, complete with suspense, lust, and a happily ever after - all things R. K. Harrington continues to bring to the page.
