Honeymoon in fairyland?
Once again, Briggs brings a completely fresh story with a style all its own to the world of Mercy Thompson. For better or worse, this time we leave the Tri-Cities and the supporting characters behind to give Mercy and Adam some alone time and explore Mercy's heritage. Oh, and battle mythical water creatures with the help of Platonic forms of animals. This book is far more straight fantasy than the previous books, which I enjoyed but others might disagree. I missed the usual suspects, but there are some great characters introduced her that keep the plot rich. I can't wait to read what happens to Mercy next.

I loved this book. I admit I reread it every couple years. Mercy is a hero, a good person who has such honesty and quirks and loyalty. Mercy and Adams’s love is a huge part of the series. The Walking Stick and Coyote are such interesting characters.! I’m 77 years old and I am delighted with the richness of Mercy and Adam ‘s world. I read a wide variety of books, but this is my favorite series. Thank you. Thank you for bringing me so much joy through your writing!
Great and Solid Read
We get to dive into mercy’s past with this one. And excellent new cast of characters and a very nice nod to the recurring ones. I’m reading the next book ASAP.
