New York Times bestselling author Cora Carmack's young adult debut: Roar.
In a land ruled and shaped by violent magical storms, power lies with those who control them.
Aurora Pavan comes from one of the oldest Stormling families in existence. Long ago, the ungifted pledged fealty and service to her family in exchange for safe haven, and a kingdom was carved out from the wildlands and sustained by magic capable of repelling the world’s deadliest foes. As the sole heir of Pavan, Aurora's been groomed to be the perfect queen. She’s intelligent and brave and honorable. But she’s yet to show any trace of the magic she’ll need to protect her people.
To keep her secret and save her crown, Aurora’s mother arranges for her to marry a dark and brooding Stormling prince from another kingdom. At first, the prince seems like the perfect solution to all her problems. He’ll guarantee her spot as the next queen and be the champion her people need to remain safe. But the more secrets Aurora uncovers about him, the more a future with him frightens her. When she dons a disguise and sneaks out of the palace one night to spy on him, she stumbles upon a black market dealing in the very thing she lacks—storm magic. And the people selling it? They’re not Stormlings. They’re storm hunters.
Legend says that her ancestors first gained their magic by facing a storm and stealing part of its essence. And when a handsome young storm hunter reveals he was born without magic, but possesses it now, Aurora realizes there’s a third option for her future besides ruin or marriage. She might not have magic now, but she can steal it if she’s brave enough.
Challenge a tempest. Survive it. And you become its master.

I went shopping in Barnes and noble the other day, ran across this wonderful start to a series, I dnt live near many bookstores so when I realized this is a trilogy I was at first really excited because I dreaded the end that was going to come from finishing the book, and then I come to find out that there’s not just a sequel but there’s two more books in the series, but here comes the heartbreaking part, on the iBooks store, only the first book in the trilogy is provided, since no bookstore in my town has the next two books, I may end up losing the story line before I have the chance to read the next two...... pleaseeeeee add the rest of this series. It’s the best read I have had in a long time and was heartbroken that I have to wait to find out what happens next , hopefully I’ll find a well stocked book store in the meantime.... I HOPE
I loved this book. It's beyond my favorite book now! I love the characters and the storyline. I felt a connection between and with the characters. I can't wait for the next book to come out!
Being someone who very rarely reads paranormal, a story has to really intrigue me to make me want to read it. When I heard Cora was writing a YA paranormal, I knew I would read it since she is one of my must buy authors. When I found out the premise of the story and she released a teaser, I was very much looking forward to it. I was not disappointed. Cora has created a unique and intriguing world full of twists and turns that will grip you until the very last page and leave you wanting more. Whether you're a Cora fan, a paranormal fan, a YA fan or not, you're going to want to add ROAR to your must reads!
