Amazing graphics
Sparky is off on a practice mission to the Robot Factory with his friends Blasto and Melody. Mad Doctor can watch Sparky on the screen but beware of the Supervisor out to destroy them. The graphics are amazing with so many details added on each page. My son compared them to a video game. The narrator is so expressive and the different voices for the Robots is fun to listen to.
Robots of Mars - The Robot Factory
Ever wondered what Mars might be like populated only by robots in the distant future? Now we have the answer, in the first of a three book series.
These are not the colorless robots currently occupying Mars, but characters with quirky personalities. The central character is Sparky, brought to life by The Mad Doctor who sends Sparky on a test. He must go from one end of the Robot Factory to the other, while keeping an eye out for the Supervisor’s evil robot minions.
I recommend this book for any child who appreciates striking graphics and alternative worlds. They can read this book focusing on the story of Sparky’s creation and testing, and other times studying the richly detailed backgrounds in which Sparky’s adventures take place. I don’t have any young children at home, but I can imagine how I would have enjoyed this book as a child, and the adventures I would have had in my imagination as a robot on the Mars of a billion years in the future.
