Gripping and intense!!!
I am taken aback with this debut knockout of a book by Alexis. She reeled me in with the blurb, calling to the curious part of me and I had to read it. What I didn’t expect, when I started it this morning, was how much I would get sucked in. This didn’t pack the steamy scenes I usually run to, but I found myself unable to turn my eyes away - I had to know. Fair warning for sensitive readers because there ARE potential triggers in this one.
Edith is the sweetest, level headed and smart young woman. When she meets Aiden, she thought he was everything she needed to get her happily ever after…little did she know that the handsome man she had fallen for was actually a truly horrifying monster. Aiden is the type of sweet that is too good to be true, he has a dark side that he hides too well. Add in the secrets and the jaw-dropping cliffhanger, I am hooked and have to know where Alexis is taking this. She has woven a story that started off so sweet and turned it into a nightmare, but did so in a way that kept me on the edge of my seat because I couldn’t predict what was going to happen and I love that she was able to pull that over on me. I need the next book!!
