Publisher Description
Rowan hopes that the deep emptiness inside him might possibly heal—if he just finds the retired K9 Hershey, named after an old trainer buddy. Nothing can hold Rowan back from locating his old K9 friend. What he didn’t expect was his old friend had found a new friend, with puppies of her own.
Brandi had just lost her grandmother, her home, and her best four-legged friend, Lacey, in a horrible forest fire that swept through town. Everyone said to not give up on Lacey, as dogs often disappeared only to reappear later. That one thought calls her to spend every spare moment she has at the site, calling for Lacey. When she realizes someone else has the same idea, she’s happy to join forces.
When things get ugly, she’s glad to have someone at her side because she hadn’t seen what ugly could really look like … until now.

This is a nice addition to the series. I have enjoyed reading about the missing War Dog stories and the men and women who come together along the way.
Here we have Hershey, the missing War Dog. He was retired from active service to a family in California. Unfortunately a fire had ravished the area in destruction. Rowan is sent to search for the dog or to find closure if the dog perished in the fire. Rowan had previously worked with the dog before Rowan was injured during a mission. Brandi is back in the area after being gone for a seminar overseas for work. Brandi lost her home, her grandmother and her dog to the fire. Brandi comes back every night after work searching for her beloved dog, Lacey. Just after hearing a growl, shots are fired at Brandi.
Can these two figure out the mystery surrounding Brandi’s grandmother’s death, the shots and all the danger that is suddenly confronting them? I enjoyed reading this story since the it is written in my favorite dual POV format, it helped to connect with the characters.
This is a sexy read. The one thing that bothers me with the sexy read part and with most of this author’s work, there is no mention of protection. I would recommend this to anyone over the age of 18
A SEAL, a Scientist and 2 Missing Dogs
A tale of 2 missing dogs in an area razed by fire. A retired SEAL. A scientist. And a threat. A page turner, a romance and so much more. Loved it! Bravo!!
