Good story. Characters are interesting and often humorous. Action is well-developed.

Please check the definitions for cement and for concrete.
My family has been in the concrete business for over 40 years. Cement is one of the ingredients, a powder, that is added to make concrete. The resulting concrete begins as a sludge and hardens over time.
Falling into cement would not be the same as falling onto hardened concrete. And—bullets would not ping when hitting cement.
