APPLE BOOKS REVIEW
In the conclusion of Leigh Bardugo’s enthralling Grisha Trilogy, the powers of light and darkness face off for an epic showdown. Young Alina Starkov is the only one with the magical powers that could save her kingdom—or at least, she used to be. Now she’s lost both her powers and her confidence. But by banding together with a few remaining rebels and some questionable allies, Alina hopes she can create peace in the kingdom of Ravka once and for all. We love everything about Alina, especially her imperfections. The mistakes she makes and the difficulties she faces—including navigating her complicated feelings for her childhood friend Mal, the outlaw prince Nikolai, and the enticing evil lord known as the Darkling—make her personal journey feel just as important as the sweeping fantasy tale that surrounds her. If you’re hooked on the show Shadow and Bone, you’ll quickly get caught up in Alina’s storyline, but trust us: You’ll want to read all three books in this series!
A good read
A good read to the very last page.
Loved this series so much! I didn’t want to put it down!
The fantasy world paired with real down to earth characters who struggled, fought, and loved really drew me in to the story. I loved the complexity of the characters and the unpredictable storyline.
This was a fantastic series and book 2 was my favorite. The ending provided in book 3 was so majorly missed for me. It felt too much of a Disney fairytale ending than a realistic one. It was too romanticized which I felt was already wrapped up nicely before the final fight scene. The final fight scene was rushed but still an ok scene. I just felt the overall ending to the main character was a romanticized Disney version that was unrealistic despite the reasoning provided by the author.
