Warning: A red hot, gut-wrenching, rip-your-heart out read.

When you’re going through hell… Run.

When I met Samantha Collins, I was a juvenile delinquent on the road to being a violent, alcoholic piece of s**t like the rest of the men in my family. But falling for a good girl like Sam changed all that.

Loving Sam is what I’m good at, what I’m made for. Nothing matters the way she matters.

So when she wants to run away with me for the summer, I don’t hesitate. What guy wouldn’t want to spend three months on a sexy adventure with his favorite person?

But soon it hits me—Sam isn’t running away with me. She’s running from something else, something dark and ugly that will rip our world apart.

Alert: Run With Me is a full-length novel that ends with some plot elements unresolved. Fight for You, Book Two, the conclusion to Danny and Sam’s story, is available now. Formerly published as This Sweet Escape.

A Review of This Sweet Escape by Jessie Evans

A gripping, gut-wrenching story that grabs you by the throat and doesn't let go - 5++++ stars

I had been looking forward to Sam and Danny's story for many months, but somehow lost the original copy of it that was sent out. In getting ready for the next story in the series, I finally realized I hadn't read this one, so I got started on it right away. The characters of Sam and Danny both grabbed hold of me and I did NOT want to put the book down until I finished it.

There were a few laughs, the gnawing feeling that things were going to blow up, then lots of tears and angst. Jessie took me on a roller coaster of epic proportions, with so many twists and turns that I felt like I was literally falling apart with Sam and Danny. As much as I love her writing, I am glad that I did not read this when it first came out. I think the wait for OBR would have broken me.

I hated, yet LOVED this story and how it came together. I bawled like a baby for the last 10% of the book. This is a very intense story and you will want to immediately dive into the conclusion, which is what I am doing.

An emotional addition to the WILD RUSH series

Danny Cooney and Samantha Collins have been in love for what seems like forever. Since meeting when they were 13, separated by time and circumstance again and again, Danny and Sam have always found their way back to each other. But now Sam is hiding a secret so terrible that she's not sure that there is enough love in the world to keep them together.

Oh, my goodness, the feelings that I went through while reading THIS SWEET ESCAPE, the fourth book in the WILD RUSH series. I wanted Danny and Sam to get their happily ever after so badly, and thought that this was it. It was clear from early on, though, that trouble was brewing, and that things were not going to go nicely here.

I don't think that Jessie Evans can write a character that I don't love. Danny Cooney, for all that he is only 20 years old, has been through one heck of a time in his young life. That he has emerged strong, whole, and full of love for his family and for Sam is pretty miraculous. He has spent the seven years since meeting and falling for Sam making a way for them to be together. All he wants is to be with her, the girl that he fell for, and the woman that he'll always love. Sam, for her part, is typical Jessie heroine material. Strong, sassy, independent, and sure of what she wants in life, Sam has always lived with a take-no-prisoners attitude, even when her family fell apart, because she had Danny to lean on during the tough times. But sometimes, things are so bleak, so dark, that the light at the end of the tunnel seems too far off to reach.

I love this story. I love everything about it, even the tears and the anger and the sinking feeling when things start going crazy. Thank you, thank you, thank you, Jessie Evans, for continuing to amaze me with your gifted storytelling, characters that feel like family, and the blessing of your creativity that makes it all possible.
