Publisher Description
INTRODUCTION Kwara State is located in the North Central geo-political zone of Nigeria. It was one of the first group of twelve states structure established by the military regime of General Yakubu Gowon in 1967. There has been a lot of structural changes in the size, structure and ethnic composition of the state since its creation. However, the major parts of what was traditionally known as Ilorin Emirate remain in the existing geographical component known as Kwara State. The Igbomina, the central subject of this paper used as case study, lives in the southeastern part of the state and has remained part of it since its inception not withstanding various structural changes in the state composition over the years.
