This collection contains an assortment of short stories by Russian author Alexander Pushkin. Included in the collection is ?The Snow-Storm,? a well-loved work by Pushkin. The story begins when the 17-year-old Marya Gavrilovna falls in love with a young officer and decides to elope with him against the wishes of her parents. The pair plans to meet at a church to elope, but their plans are set asunder by a harsh winter blizzard. The couple remains separated, and, realizing the futility of their situation, Marya's lover goes off to fight in the war. After much confusion and various cases of mistaken identities, the story ends well for the two lovers. The duo is eventually reunited and are finally able to marry.
