4 Nanny Love Stars!
San Francisco 49ers, a sexy and sweet hero, a playful nanny and a fake relationship turned real!!!!! Ummm...do I need to say more? Yes, it is clearly safe to say that Safe Bet was a fun and sweet read!! Toss in the fact that it was written by Monica Murphy then you know I will be all over this book.
“I like her attitude, her personality , how easy she is to talk to, her sparkling blue eyes and her pretty smile. I like how feisty she can be, how honest she’s been, how worried she is that I might think less of her because of a couple stupid decisions she’s made. ”
Safe Bet is the fourth installment of The Rules Series that was a mashup of characters from the One Week Girlfriend Series and can be read as a standalone but if you are a Drew and Fable fan then you better get excited because they play a prominent role in this book.
Sydney Walker is nineteen years old and is in desperate need of a job. So when she gets the offer to be a nanny to San Francisco’s 49ers quarterback, Drew Callahan, Sydney immediately takes the job. She will be the family’s live in nanny and also Fable’s assistant. Sydney just wants to take control of her life and get on the right path but when a photo was taken of Drew and Sydney, rumors begins to grow rampant that they are having an affair. Soon Sydney finds herself being referred to as the Naughty Nanny.
Wade Knox is a family friend of Fable Callahan and the newest member of the San Francisco 49ers and so when Fable asked Wade to pretend to be the girlfriend of Sydney in order to get the press off Drew and Sydney, he soon finds himself realizing that this fake relationship might turn out real. So will this rising football star discover that there is no pretending when it comes to his attraction to Sydney?
“Sex has never felt so right before. Or so perfect. This man is somehow becoming everything to me. And while that’s a pretty serious thought, for once, I’m not afraid.”
If you are a fan of sweet and light romance, Safe Bet is definitely a safe read for you. Monica Murphy did a great job incorporating a playful aspect with a hint of sexual appeal to entice sports romance fans like myself. Though the book was light on angst, it was big with lots of love and football. So if you are looking for a fun, fresh, and adorably sweet read then I suggest you better meet Wade Knox and place your bets on how long will it take for you to fall in love with him… here’s a hint, it doesn’t take long.
This is a great one!!!
I love contemporary romance and Monica Murphy writes some of the best. This is The Rules series book 4 and it features Wade Knox, which some may remember from the One Week Girlfriend series and Sydney Walker, which some will recognize her brother Gabe from The Rules series. We also see A LOT of Drew and Fable in this book. I absolutely love reading a book and interacting with characters from previous books.
Sydney and Wade are great together. I love it when the guy is just as into the girl as she is into him and I'm not talking about for the sex alone. This book has a great story line and fantastic, well developed characters. Sexy football players around every corner at Drew and Fable's house. I can't wait to see what this author comes out with next!
Perhaps the best yet! :)
Monica Murphy has done it again! I first discovered this extraordinary author during the very beginning of The Rules series, so I was super excited when book #4 was announced and jumped at the opportunity to read and review it! Although I’ve read all of the books in The Rules series, this happened to be my first experience with Drew and Fable. After finishing this book I immediately added the One Week Girlfriend series to my TBR list and I can’t wait to carve out some free-time (which is few and far in-between now that I am back in school). However, I WILL make time because I loved the idea of a crossover between the two series!
Safe Bet is the fourth installment in The Rules series and perhaps the best yet! This story follows the “fake” relationship between Wade Knox (rookie NFL player of the 49ers) and Sydney Walker (Drew & Fable’s live-in nanny). I have always adored books that have to do with a “fake” relationship turned real, so I was super excited to read this book and I can happily say that I didn’t regret a single moment of it.
Sydney Walker is nineteen years old and has never worked a single day in her life, but when her parents cut her off after lying about attending college, she must find work quickly. Thanks to her older brother’s connection, she was fortunate enough to find work as a live-in nanny for Drew and Fable Callahan, NFL royalty. Everything was going great until she was photographed with Drew and his two children leaving a restaurant without his wife. Before they knew it rumors of an affair were spreading like wildfire and they came up with the perfect solution…
…Enter in Wade Knox, the twenty-two year old newest wide receiver for the 49ers who every girl wants, but for one-week he’s all Sydney’s. Thanks to a plan set in motion by Drew and Fable (Wade’s best friends older sister) he is now in a committed “fake” relationship with the nineteen year old for at least a week. What he thought would be a fun fling to get the paparazzi of the rumor of an affair between Sydney and Drew, quickly turns into something more…but can a relationship really blossom that fast?
