86 year old Sammy Levine desperately unhappy with his life in the Star of David nursing home, dreams of taking one last road trip with his wife Esther (who presently resides in an urn in his small room). After hatching and carrying out a carefully choreographed plan of escape, he loads Esther into a backpack and sets out for his hometown of New Orleans.
