Publisher Description

For the first time New York Times bestselling author Christopher Rice writes as C. Travis Rice. Under his new pen name, Rice offers tales of passion, intrigue, and steamy romance between men. The first novel, SAPPHIRE SUNSET, transports you to a beautiful luxury resort on the sparkling Southern California coast where strong-willed heroes release the shame that blocks their heart's desires.

Logan Murdoch is a fighter, a survivor, and a provider. When he leaves a distinguished career in the Marine Corps to work security at a luxury beachfront resort, he’s got one objective: pay his father’s mounting medical bills. That means Connor Harcourt, the irresistibly handsome scion of the wealthy family that owns Sapphire Cove, is strictly off limits, despite his sassy swagger and beautiful blue eyes. Logan’s life is all about sacrifices; Connor is privilege personified. But temptation is a beast that demands to be fed, and a furtive kiss ignites instant passion, forcing Logan to slam the brakes. Hard.

Haunted by their frustrated attraction, the two men find themselves hurled back together when a headline-making scandal threatens to ruin the resort they both love. This time, there’s no easy escape from the magnetic pull of their white hot desire. Will saving Sapphire Cove help forge the union they crave, or will it drive them apart once more?

Loved it

This is book one of a series of 2 books. Each one is a separate story even though all the characters are connected.

I love the way author C. Travis Rice discribes each of the character so well that I found it extremely hard picking my favorite character. Thee is Connor who comes from great wealth. But I love even though it’s his family, the wealth doesn’t define him. And what he does with the vast inheritance that was left I understood completely & why. I did the same. Connor treats everyone the same, as his friend. Loved that. And when Connor explained to the love of his life Logan the demons that’s tortured him most of his life everyone will feel his pain. Maybe not exactly but everyone has something or done something that haunts their soul.

And now Logan. Logan Logan, Logan the gay poster man, or every gay erotic dream, fantasy or wish. Tall, very good looking, ex Marine, knows what he wants in life & sexually & seeks out to get it.

But what’s the most attractive isn’t his looks, or masculinity, or even being a total top but how he treats $ feels for Connor even when & through the years & miles of separation. He wanted only the best even though it wasn’t him, he thought.

But when fate brought them together, OMG it was HOT. It’s passionate, erotic, mind blowing.

It’s one of my favorite, if not THE FAVORITE gay love love stories I’ve ever read. Loved this book & can not wait to start book 2 of the series.

Mr. Rice is a favorite!!

I have enjoyed C. Rice for many years, and I was delighted to rediscover him in this book. The story seems to be full of life’s delights and challenges, but the return of Connor to the hotel with Logan seemingly unscathed by the scandal sets the stage for their reunion. It almost seems on the road to HEA when the rug is pulled out, causing another separation. How it goes from there is clever and uplifting… Some great moments that you almost want to cheer about. The sequel is definitely on my list…

Amazing Read - Memories

I’ve never reviewed a book before. This statement alone should tell you how much I really enjoyed this book. I liked the detail and the nuanced way characters were built up in this book with very accurate depictions. I could relate to many different characters and situations having experienced southern CA firsthand at the young age 17 while serving in the military. It sparked a lot of memories I was exposed to in the 80s. I laughed, I cried, I devoured this book. I’m excited for the next book. We’ll done C. Travis Rice.
