Her family’s faith in God is put to the test as the holiest night of the year approaches and Sarah remains far away. Sarah’s mother, Elizabeth, has been missing her son for such a long time…will she lose her daughter to the English world as well? Or will the Beachy family receive an unexpected Christmas miracle?

I loved this book!!
I loved this book!! Heartwarming story, balanced, well-developed and diverse characters with realistic attitudes - and believeable but uplifting conclusion (or is it the conclusion?!). Sarah is very fond of Adam, who is in love and ready to push the marriage button. But though she does not want to break up with him, she needs to sort through some issues before being able to commit to a lifetime together, or to raising a family of her own. Her brother, Caleb, left his Amish community and family several years ago and has never returned, assumedly because he is so happy living the Englisch life. Sarah decides to try to track down her brother, find out why he has never returned to the fold - and who knows? Maybe she can persuade him to come home with her. It was wonderful to see Sarah coming into her own personality - being just assertive enough to be healthy in her God-given strengths - but neither obnoxiously nor aggressively. There were even a few recipes at the end, which I plan to try! This was my first book by Mary Ellis, but it will not be my last.
