The first rule of working together? Don't fall for the boss’s daughter. Definitely don’t fall for her when you’re trying to buy the business.
The trouble is Sloane is smack dab next me from 9 to freaking 5. And she’s as captivating, brilliant, and sexy as ever, which means I’m taking more than the recommended dosage of office romance temptation every day. Make that every single second, because she’s not only “the one” -- she’s the one who got away.
But she’s the very definition of off-limits, so I keep my hands to myself. Fine, we might flirt. Okay, we do indulge in the occasional dirty text. And there was that one time when we kissed on the street. But we’ve been good since then.
Until the night she issues me a challenge -- seven nights of O lessons and then we walk away.
Sounds like a simple arrangement.
But I was never good with those kind of rules.
I adored it!
I absolutely adored Malone and Sloane’s story because they get a second chance at love and they’re perfect for each other. I’ve been a fan of this author for years and every book she writes is better than the one before. I love experiencing the story through both character’s point of view, there’s always just enough sexual intimacy to accentuate the storyline and she comes up with awesome names for her characters. How much sweeter can a couple be when their names are Sloane and Malone? This pair of lovebirds really struggle with seeing each other behind her father’s back and I love and admire characters with real integrity. And last, but not least, both characters love dogs which are near and dear to this author’s heart...and mine! I read an early copy of this book and all opinions expressed in my voluntary review are completely my own.
Sloane and Malone
This was such a sweet and sexy second chance romance. Meeting your perfect match only to have to let them go is heart breaking. Carrying a torch for seven years and then having to work in close quarters with that person is monumentally frustrating. Reading about it is wonderfully entertaining. And this romance has its own soundtrack.
Malone was to die for and Sloane was so sweet. I loved the interaction between these two characters. The supporting characters were also great and I look forward to more stories. Lauren Blakely has a swoony, sexy 5 star book success.
