Publisher Description
This suit was commenced by Donald Savina to recover for injuries he sustained in an explosion at his place of employment, Milwaukee Tool & Equipment Company, when he was pushing a load of freshly painted tool housings into a natural gas-fired drying oven. The defendant Wisconsin Gas Company had inspected the gas piping and some of the other defendants had repaired various controls or regulators on the oven in the months preceding the explosion. The trial was had to the court and the jury and at the close of the plaintiffs case the court dismissed the complaint as to the defendants other than Wisconsin Gas Company. The jury found in its special verdict that the explosion was caused by gas but that there was no leakage in the gas pipes leading to the oven and therefore a judgment was entered dismissing the complaint as against the gas company.
