Karla Kratovil’s “Saving a Scoundrel” (The Maidens of Marbury Book 2)
Karla Kratovil is a new author to me. “Saving a Scoundrel” is the third book I’ve read so far and I must say that I have enjoyed all three immensely and will definitely be on the lookout for her books in the future.
The characters were outstanding! Lucius was a flawed but. good man who had to prove himself, not only to his parents but to himself as well. He faltered when it came to realizing that he did deserve happiness himself and that he was worthy. As he seeks to protect his sister‘s best friend Ellie, he finds himself hopelessly in love with her, knowing he’s not good enough for her. Ellie is a young, intelligent woman who’s left changed after the death of a good friend. With bucket list in hand, she now wants to truly live and experience her life on her own terms. Lucius is the man of her dreams since childhood and they are both forever changed after her one impulsive kiss.
I loved the storyline, and the author’s writing style. I always enjoy really banter and the back-and-forth between characters and I enjoyed how Lucius and Ellie were able to tease, be themselves and communicate with one another so comfortably. I always enjoy seeing characters grow through their journey and Lucius and Ellie grew personally and as a couple. This was a beautiful love story where secrets do abound and there’s much going on as this sweet couple make their way to their HEA.
Thank you so much Ms. Kratovil for this wonderful love story. I look forward to seeing how the couples in this series are matched up and reading their stories.

Great book! I loved this book and the characters. Great romantic story line with a fun heroine, Ellie! I loved her straight-forward and humorous manner. Steamy scenes between Ellie and Lucius are well written and overall the friends to lovers story line is great. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND this book as well as the first in the series - A Perfect Engagement
