From New York Times Bestseller, Corinne Michaels, comes a new second chance standalone romance.
I spent twenty years waiting for Trent Hennington to open his eyes and see me. But it was all for nothing. He chose to keep himself guarded and let me walk away, proving that my time and efforts were wasted.
I'm done being invisible.
It's time to move on.
A single dance sets my new reality into motion, and I welcome it. After all, Cooper Townsend is perfect. He's kind, sexy, and attentive--everything a girl could want.
I thought I got it right this time.
That my heart could mend, and I would be happy.
Apparently, some things really are just too hard to walk away from.
APPLE BOOKS REVIEW
Alternately angsty and laugh-out-loud funny, Corinne Michaels' small-town romance reads like a younger, sexier version of a Debbie Macomber or Susan Mallery book. Grace Rooney has dreamed of marrying Trent Hennington since she was a teen, but when he refuses to commit (again), she shocks him by calling it quits. Complicating matters is Cooper Townsend, Grace’s friend who’s determined to prove he can be more. As much as we loved the trio of Grace, Cooper, and Trent, we also fell for the southern charm and well-intentioned meddling of the residents of Bell Buckle, Tennessee.
Oh, so swoon-worthy
Oh, Trent! I wasn't sure what to think about him at the beginning and was rooting for Grace. She is a strong woman for sure!
Trent slowly, but surely, wormed his into my heart and made me want to be his girl! He was amazing and and loving. This book, same as the previous one, tore my heart out yet was able to glue it back together. Corinne Michaels is swiftly becoming a must read author to me!
I have a thing for cops now!
With every read of Corinne's I prepare for the emotions. I was not disappointed.
Trent had me angry, he had me crying, he had me swooning after him, and he had me smiling in the end!
Grace had me shaking my head, had me hi fiving her for her bravery, and had me holding onto her for support too.
I loved Trent and Grace's story! Good things really do come with time.
If you have read the other Brother's stories this is an automatic must read! If this is your first of the Hennington boys you can start here and fall in love with them! (Lets face it-that cover is to die for!)
Trent is a guy you hate to love
I have to say out of all the Hennington boys, Trent is the most frustrating. Trent is one of those guys, that you hate to love. He string’s Grace along for over 20 years. As much as I was thinking how Grace is so weak, she can’t get herself away from him. I also think that she’s strong, to have to deal with everything that Trent has handed to her.
The way that Trent is, makes her question everything. She always to reassure that’s what he wants. I was honestly, frustrated for her. Just like the other Michael’s books, something major happens, that turns everything around. I wasn’t expecting it, but it was interesting.
I didn’t connect with the characters, as much as the others. I think it was because they were so guarded. I really hope that Michaels makes a story just about Cooper, that boy deserves some love. I was content with the narrators. They brought forward the emotions these characters were feeling, you understood in a sense all their hesitations.
Overall, I give this Four Boundless Stars. I really did enjoy this. I just didn’t love it as much as the other two.
