From New York Times Bestseller, Corinne Michaels, comes a new standalone second chance romance.
It was all he had to do. Instead, he got on that bus and took my heart with him.
That was seventeen years ago.
I moved on. Marriage. Kids. White picket fence. Everything I ever wanted, but my husband betrayed me and I was left once again.
Alone, penniless, and with two boys, I had no choice but to return to Tennessee. He wasn’t supposed to be there. I should’ve been safe. However, fate has a way of stepping in.
This time around, the tables are turned. It’s my decision. Second chances do exist, but I don’t know if we can repair what’s already been broken . . .
APPLE BOOKS REVIEW
In this series-starter, Corinne Michaels lays the groundwork for multiple romantic storylines tinged by tragedy and fate. Presley Benson is a country girl who moved to the big city and had her heart broken and her entire life shattered. Returning home after nearly two decades away, Presley steps back into complicated relationships from her past. Those stories develop in future instalments—Say You’ll Stay draws us in with a vivid snapshot of small-town atmosphere and the unavoidable pull of past love.

Say you’ll stay
It’s complicated. The characters who find themselves together again after a long hiatus have to deal with their histories and heartaches before resuming a passionate relationship
First Love and Second Chances
I love a good second chance romance and Say You'll Stay did not disappoint! I was completely unprepared for the beginning and knew that I wouldn't be able to put this one down. I fell in love with the characters and with Bell Buckle, TN. This is book 1 in the author's Return to Me series of interconnected stand alones about the Hennington brothers.
Zach. I am still swooning for this cowboy. He is the perfect blend of cocky and vulnerable. It's clear that although 17 years have passed between him and Presley, their feelings and connection are just as strong (if not stronger) as when they were teenagers. Yes, he lost a few points in my book for not ending things with Felicia before things started to change between him and Presley, but I loved how devoted he was to trying again once Presley returned. He was patient, understanding, and sweet as he and Presley got to know each other again as adults. They have so much history and pain to wade through, especially Presley, and the flashbacks to the past were perfectly placed to shed light on how these two got to this point. I do wish that there had been more Zach chapters though, because I often wondered what was going on in his mind.
Presley. I both loved her and was annoyed by her. I understand that when things went south the first time, she was only 18, so she wasn't the most mature. Honestly, neither was Zach, but that's young love. It's all consuming and emotional. They were living off the dreams of first love and the reality didn't match up. I really liked that the story addressed that even if different choices had been made, the relationship still might not have survived. So much in life is about timing. I thought things moved a little quickly after all the tragedy Presley has faced, but at the same time not fast enough since Zach and Presley have known each other since they were kids and the spark never died. Another thing in the story that annoyed me was Felicia. I understand why there was the whole other woman plot line and that Zach would not have been unattached for 17 years, but the amount of hostility and anger towards Felicia seemed over the top. Yes, she's terrible and catty, but I was really curious as to why there was so much hate towards her. Everyone got their comeuppance though, so it all worked out ;)
I definitely enjoyed the secondary characters in this book like Cooper, Angie, Grace, and the up in your business all the time residents of Bell Buckle, but I especially loved Wyatt. He's the loyal brother and best friend who wants something more. His scenes were hilarious, heartfelt, and bittersweet. I was happy to see that book 2 in the series will be his story. I really enjoyed this second chance love story and can't wait to return to my favorite town in Tennessee.
