Fabulous Regency Romance
Within seconds of starting to read Scandal’s Choice, I was reminded in the best way of how much I used to love reading Georgette Heyer novels when I was younger. The Regency setting and plot of a woman—who’s had two failed Seasons and is considered ‘odd’ because of her passion for woodworking—and an experienced, wealthy Major—who’s life has been turned upside down after his leg has been amputated due to a war injury—are absolutely a wonderful tangle of social mishaps and romantic misunderstandings. Unlike Heyer’s Regency romances, Scandal’s Choice has a fresher feel because of its slight sexiness and the realistic portrayal of post-traumatic stress. I highly recommend Scandal’s Choice to anyone who loves reading Regency or historical romance in general. It’s simply a fabulously fun read with a rich setting and characters you’ll fall in love with.
