Publisher Description

Discover the phenomenal #1 bestselling sequel to Gone With the Wind: "true to Scarlett's spirit," this inventive novel beautifully continues Margaret Mitchell's timeless tale (Chicago Tribune).
The most popular and beloved American historical novel ever written, Gone With the Wind is unparalleled in its portrayal of men and women at once larger than life but as real as ourselves. Now Alexandra Ripley brings us back to Tara and reintroduces us to the characters we remember so well: Rhett, Ashley, Mammy, Suellen, Aunt Pittypat, and, of course, Scarlett.
As the classic story, first told over half a century ago, moves forward, the greatest love affair in all fiction is reignited; amidst heartbreak and joy, the endless, consuming passion between Scarlett O'Hara and Rhett Butler reaches its startling culmination. Rich with surprises at every turn and new emotional, breathtaking adventures, Scarlett satisfies our longing to reenter the world of Gone With the Wind. Like its predecessor, Scarlett will find an eternal place in our hearts.

Entertaining Sequel to my favorite book

Scarlett was an entertaining, "can't put down" read. Although it doesn't have the same caliber as Gone with the Wind, it gave fans of the Mitchell classic what they asked for, what happened next in the life of one of the most beloved heroines.

My all time favorite books!

I have read Scarlett many times. I absolutely love the story. Scarlett gets what she has coming to her in this book, but also goes through a life-changing transformation of her character (but not too much so). I am waiting and hoping for an audio version. I have actually purchased and listened to Dixie Carter read an abridged version on cassette tapes, but they leave out so much of the story, it really needs to be redone. The movie version of Scarlett was horrible! They changed the story line completely. Such a disappointment.

Amazing. Simply amazing.

I can’t believe I just now found this treasure.
