Sophie’s existence has been… not terrible lately as she splits her days between school (where Soph remains a pariah) and her internship at WMIA 7 (where way too many media tips about paranormal activity in Miami turn out to be way too true). And in her rare free time, Sophie acts in Milo’s latest student film. With such a whirlwind life, it’s no surprise that everyone forgets Soph’s 15th birthday. But Soph’s parents intend to make up for this mistake by throwing her a Quinceñera. Meanwhile, a disgraced celebrity chef hears how Sophie’s been proving her father’s innocence and makes a desperate plea — he wants Sophie to help him find the “real killer” who murdered his ex-wife. With the aid of some Alligatoids and a Mangrove Man, Soph hunts through the past… while someone else hunts her in the present. This whodunit culminates with crop circles, a dance-off, a cat-and-mouse chase through the colorful, yet treacherous, streets of the Wynwood district, where Sophie finds the “real killer” — and discovers a startling new truth about herself… one which threatens to doom her once and for all.
