Pharaohs' tombs. Ancient myths. Modern-day murder.

Dr. Hope Sze doesn't need a trip to Egypt.

She can't afford the flight to Cairo, or the cruise down the Nile, but her fiancé, Dr. John Tucker, yearns to patrol the Pyramids.

So when a company offers them both a free stay in Cairo in exchange for working in an emergency department, Tucker lobbies for a pre-honeymoon in the windswept temple of Hatshepsut and the Valley of Kings and Queens, confronting the curse on King Tutankhamun's tomb, or flying off to scuba dive in the Red Sea.

Instead, within 90 minutes of arrival, Hope drops to her knees outside the Grand Egyptian Museum, desperate to save a now-comatose 87-year-old man with a nail through his skull. The man had raved about Kruger and treasure.

Tucker fixates on their one chance at the legendary Kruger Millions, a fortune in gold that many believe to be secretly stowed somewhere in South Africa.

Since Tucker and Hope's combined student debt load totals almost half a million dollars, Tucker can't pass up the possibility of buried gold.

So Hope and Tucker launch into their first mystery based in a birthplace of human civilization.

Where wealth and power clash with political revolution.

Where the evil god Set battled righteous Horus and Isis in an 80-year war.

Where Antony fell in love with Cleopatra.

Where Hope and Tucker must outwit, or fall prey, to a ruthless criminal mastermind.

"Scorpion Scheme is top-notch historical crime fiction with a fabulous kick-ass female protagonist. The kind of book that you just can't put down. Scorpion Scheme is Robin Cook meets D.J. Scorpion Scheme by Melissa Yi

You will never be disappointed by reading a book written by Melissa Yi‼️ In her latest book, Canadians Dr. Hope Sze & her fiancée Dr. John Tucker have been offered a free trip to Egypt to continue their residency in Family & emergency medicine at a Cairo hospital. A health themed software co. is behind that offer & is paying for travel & a luxurious hotel room! No sooner had they arrived in Cairo, Hope & Tucker board a bus survive a hit by an IED explosion, tend the badly wounded, accosted by a bold journalist & finally make it to their hotel, totally exhausted‼️. As they meet colleagues at the hospital, try to adjust to cultural differences in the treatment of patients they begin to put clues together from the wounded elderly Mr. Becker, an Egyptologist, who Hope attended after the IED explosion‼️They begin to see who might have been stealing antiquities from Egypt’s tombs, as well as causing the deaths of children they hire to help‼️. Have Hope & Tucker a chance of trapping the criminal responsible? Will they learn who is behind filming them not only working in the hospital, but in the privacy of their hotel room? Will they find justice for themselves!? Maybe that’s for another book, eh?🧐. I love reading of Egyptology, the Pyramids, myths & gods of the ancient world & readers are always educated about the medical profession, the chaos & heroics in the emergency room & in this case, about Osiris & Isis & their family of gods & Egyptian culture! Yes all of that plus the romance of Hope & Tucker doing their best to help those who need it wherever they are❣️😍👏.
