Kelly Jamison writes with heart and sizzling heat and I always devour everything she writes. I enjoyed reading SCREWED it is a feel good story with emotion. The characters are entertaining and easy to connect with and the story is sweet and sexy.
Callie is rediscovering herself after divorcing her cheating husband. She has grown up in a family with lots of money and their only concern is what others think. Now that she is divorced, Callie is questioning everything about her life. She is tired of pleasing her parents in spite of herself and she is slowly figuring out who she is and what she wants. Along the way, Callie finds herself attracted to Cash, her ex’s best friend.
Cash is a good guy who grew up poor but is now rich and successful. He has always admired Callie and now that she is divorced, he can’t seem to stop himself from falling for her. Even though Callie’s husband cheated in her, Cash knows he should stay away from her. I love the way Cash treats Callie. He is always there for her and will do anything to make her happy. He is protective, warm and loving and I love his sexy Texas drawl.
Callie and Cash are both struggling with their feelings for each other. They are easy to like and their biggest flaw is trying to please everyone else but themselves. They have to learn to make themselves happy without feeling guilty and worried about hurting others.
Charming & Swoon Worthy!!
Everything about this story and the characters captivated me. From beginning jto the end, I was hooked. Screwed is so well written, Kelly Jamieson knows how to capture and secure the heart of her readers. This oozed heart felt goodness. And boy did I fall in love. This was blissful.
Cash and Callie are delicious together. Their personalities, their conversations, their chemistry….my, my, my. I was a goner, charmed by Cash’s southern charm, loyalty and manners beyond words. This was such a treat. A big, Delicious romantic treat for the heart. I can’t stop swooning. I’m absolutely smitten with every little detail that makes up this story. I also thoroughly enjoyed Callie’s feisty attitude, as well as her perseverance in doing something that she wanted to do, and not do what was easy or what her family wanted her to do.
There is such beauty in this love story, such decadent sweetness in their friendship to lovers Romance that transforms Callie and Cash. I ate up each page of this romance, watching their relationship grow was fun, and sweet, and sexy, and so good. I can’t recommend this story enough.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
A sweet couple
Based off this title I wasn't expecting this to be such a sweet story. Both main characters were genuinely good people that were just in a difficult situation. I really liked both of them and loved seeing these two together despite the obstacles in their way.
Back in college, Cash's best friend beat him to the girl first. He had to stuff down his attraction to Callie and watch his best friend date and eventually marry her. This story begins after Callie divorces Baeu and spent a year traveling.
It was the perfect way to start the story so that enough time had lapsed for Callie and Cash to have their beginning. That doesn't mean there wasn't still a barrier for them. Cash is a true gentlemen. He knows Callie should be off limits despite the divorce but his love for her was just too strong.
Cash's love for Callie is what really made this such a sweet story for me. He waited for her for so long, tried to stay loyal to his best friend and business partner but his love for her trumped everything.
Despite the situation, this wasn't an overly angsty story. The author gave a good portion of the story to these two just being together as good friends that turns to more. I enjoyed it very much and loved how everything resolved in the end.
Great story! ARC provided by NetGalley.
