Thomas Ford (1598–1674) was a Calvinistic, Reformed nonconformist divine, who sat on the Westminster Assembly as an active member.



Thomas Ford has penned a remarkable work that aids even the youngest in the Christian faith with tools to demonstrate Scripture’s self-evident nature of being from God and divinely inspired. In this we find the doctrine of the authority of Scripture as Christians account it.



Ford teaches us that it is necessary to be well informed in understanding the doctrine of Scripture in this way in order to be fortified against the assaults of those that, “lie in wait to undermine you and turn up the foundations of your faith.” His aim is to set down the truth of the maxim, “Scripture is the only rule of faith.”
