Seasons of Lights - A Photo Book of Kumano Kodo by Koji Hirano

In light of the massive water destruction from Super Typhoon Talas (No. 12) in 2011 which struck Kii Peninsula in Japan, Koji began to photograph Kumano Kodō(*1) in wishes of its recovery. - - The value of life, vitality, rebirth, and reincarnation - - Layering the sacred and dignified air and light of Kumano, through his unique perspective, he captured and expressed the power that dwells within “The land of resurrection”; themed in transparency, using abstract techniques.


(*1) The Kumano Kodō is the UNESCO World Heritage sites in Japan registered as the "Sacred Sites and Pilgrimage Routes in the Kii Mountain Range.”
