Publisher Description
They knew it could happen - scientists had been warning them for years. Yet, nearly two million people living in the greater Seattle area went about their daily lives as usual. A Detective Agency thought they had found a missing woman, an upstart radio station was on the air, and an eccentric banker had just started a round of golf. Thousands were driving on freeways, shopping in malls, awaiting flights, working in downtown high-rises, and on buses in the bus tunnel.
They knew -- they just didn't believe it could happen to them.

Scarily realistic
So much of this book felt real and terrifying! I lived in Seattle for a while many years ago, and knowing how much it's grown, especially skyward, I could pretty easily picture a lot of the tragedy of this story. Any city would have some similar situations, but Seattle also has its hills and the bay right there.
Well done!
Seattle Quake 9.2
Very well written. Great characters and a riveting story. Loved it.
HAMS
What a terrific learning experience. Many years ago an acquaintance was a HAM operator but I always thought it was a "nice hobby" even though I know he listened to police and fire department transmissions.
This was a very timely read after a 6.7 earthquake hit a small central Italian town last week. It brought the horror of this natural disaster home.
