The saga of civilization and the Galactic Patrol are still as awesome to me as a pre-teen and now at age 70.
Fun book, horrid transcription
I’m not sure if this was in part a speech-to-text work, or if a visual scanner transcriber was used, but there are several sections that are nearly unreadable due to typos. “die” instead of “the”, “him” instead of “then”, “AH” instead of “All”. Smith uses a particular lilting pattern of speech consistent with the time period in which the book was written that further complicates understanding.
I bought this copy because I read the whole series as a kid from my dad’s collection and adored it. I am wishing I had hunted up a hard copy at this point.
