The Wallflowers

Four young ladies at the side of the ballroom make a pact to help each other find husbands . . . no matter what it takes

Proud and beautiful Annabelle Peyton could have her pick of suitors—if only she had a dowry. Her family is on the brink of disaster, and the only way Annabelle can save them is to marry a wealthy man. Unfortunately her most persistent admirer is the brash Simon Hunt, a handsome and ambitious entrepreneur who wants her as his mistress.

Annabelle is determined to resist Simon's wicked propositions, but she can't deny her attraction to the boldly seductive rogue, any more than he can resist the challenge she presents. As they try to outmaneuver each other, they find themselves surrendering to a love more powerful than they could have ever imagined. But fate may have other plans—and it will take all of Annabelle's courage to face a peril that could destroy everything she holds dear.

Hero more dodgy than most?

I’ve just downloaded the next book, so I’m by no means turned off the author. That said, I wasn’t thrilled with the Hero’s portrayal. Simon comes across as creepy-predatory for at least the first half of the book.

He redeems himself in the second half, yet I didn’t feel a proper “why” was shown. The idea that he was okay with Annabelle being forced into becoming a mistress really bothered me. Falling in love with her didn’t fix that for me :-/

I just wanted to take the time to tell you how much I love all of your books. I love the Hathaway series and the wallflower series. I have read them so many times. I also loved how you had the next generation of wallflowers as well. I don’t even have a favorite in the wallflowers and Hathaway series I love them all they all have their own unique story. These books are absolutely amazing and you have a rare talent.

Pretty good read

I like this book. I was not totally drawn in by the characters as some of her other books. This one was a little slow and not as seductive. But as always this author delivers.
