Publisher Description
Falling for the enemy.
An heiress changes her identity and starts a new life away from her father’s ruthless, self-serving world, only to find herself falling in love with the slick, corporate player her father sends to bring her back.
After barely escaping from her ruthless billionaire father, Dakota Jamison is far from pleased when his right-hand man shows up at her bistro to take her back. She knows his reputation as a master seducer and she wants nothing to do with him, even if he does send her libido into overdrive. Unfortunately, she didn’t count on discovering that he has good reasons for doing what he does and that underneath he’s a lot more caring than he likes to let on. Before she knows it, she’s falling in love with the enemy.
Can love find a way to give them a future together, or will she be forced to choose between his happiness and her freedom?

Brain candy, but it needed help.
One of this novella's (it's not over 200 pages) positives is that the heroine is smarter than most. It's the hero who's somewhat clueless who also needs to be more in touch of his emotions. I'm happy he's evolved to become a better person at the end, but in reality, this transformation is hardly believable. Most guys like him don't change at all.
Another problem I had is that this book's deus ex machina isn't smart enough or complicated or slick enough for a criminal who profits from high-level con games. It wasn't that big of a con. Even an infant Cardassian would have seen through it quite easily. That's why mysteries are so hard to write. Nothing was original here.
In regards to editorial issues, this book should have had a few more read-throughs by someone with some grammar sense. There were too many wrong words being used. "Breath" is a noun, not a verb. The writer should have used "breathe" instead. This is soooo elementary a mistake! Geez! Another eye-rolling mistake is the improper use of the word "issues". The correct word here was "frisson". Did this book even get edited? Or was that duty left to a word processor's spellchecker? Good reason why you just can't do your own or get someone better. Amateur mistakes were being made.
