International tycoon Drago De Luca has the world at his feet and he knows it. But back home in Italy, his beloved grandmother's family inn is on the verge of closing down for good, thanks to hotshot American heiress, Chase Huntington, and her new hotel. Drago has to protect Nonna's inn, even if it means getting close enough to Chase to convince her she needs to leave. But the more time he spends with Chase, the more he's drawn to her passion, her love of his culture, and the way she looks in those Louis Vuitton heels.
Chase Huntington would give anything to enjoy her time with charming, sexy-as-hell Drago in the style capital of the world, but she has to make sure the new Huntington hotel opens successfully. How else can she prove she's not just fashionista with a fortune—she’s an heiress savvy enough to take over the family’s biggest hotel back in California? But somewhere between boutiques and business plans, she falls head over Louboutins for Drago. But when Drago's true motive for spending so much time with her comes to light, it could destroy everything Chase built and everything she thought she found in Italy.

I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
Drago comes "home" to Italy to find his Nonna's Inn in crisis. Diego, a family friend who's been running the Inn, stole from the Inn and left the country. Since Nonna won't accept his money to get the Inn in repair, Drago approaches his grandma's Inn as he would one of his businesses. He's ruthless and will stop at nothing to help Nonna. His guilt at not coming home sooner and finding out about the Inn, sways his decisions and not necessarily in a good way.
Chase comes into town to prove to her family that she can run a "posh" hotel. If the Grand Opening is a success, she's assured her "dream" job back in Malibu. Chase finds herself the object of Drago's desires, but also his schemes to delay her Grand Opening so Nonna's opening will be a success. While translating for Chase and spending time getting to know her, he realizes he can't go through with his plan to sabotage her Grand Opening. When Chase finds out about his scheming and lies, she flees Ferrara broken hearted....
This was actually the first MK Meredith novel I've ever read. I really enjoyed it! I felt as though I was experiencing Ferrara along with Chase, seeing it through her eyes. I loved that she was such a history buff. I did think the middle of the novel was a little slow, but overall it was a really good novel. Kuddos to MK Meredith on her sexy, Italian stud and sassy, nerdy businesswoman.
A fun read!
A fun read! Watching two who aren't looking for love stumble into it is always entertaining! :)
American heiress Chase Huntington has come to Italy to oversee the grand opening of a new hotel in her family's conglomerate. If she proves that she can do a great job here, she's convinced it will earn her the coveted job she wants back home in Malibu, CA running the largest of her family's hotels. She can't fail!
Drago De Luca is back home in Italy to figure out how to save his Nonna's Inn. He sees Chase as huge competition that will force Nonna to close for good, so he sets out to sabotage her opening. He gets close to her and finagles with the locals behind her back, but the plan backfires when he starts to actually care about her!
Will she forgive him when she learns of all of his lies? And will they ever be able to see a future together?
Awesome book! Loved the writing in this one, it was very descriptive and made me feel like I was sitting in Italy with the rest of the characters. Drago and the way he loved his family, especially his Nonna touched my Italian heart at it's core. The chemistry between Drago and Chase was great and you can see the train wreck coming when he isn't completely honest with her. As Chase gets more and more invested in the town and with all the people you can't help but hope she has finally found her home.
I highly recommend this one!
