When he emerges, Paul is shocked to find that he has been transported to a future world where humanity has been wiped out. He is the only person left alive. Everywhere he looks, he sees nothing but destruction. He realizes that something must have happened while he was in the time machine that caused the destruction of the world.
Paul is determined to find out what happened, so he sets out to explore the ruins of the world. He comes across a group of robots that have been left in the ruins. He eventually discovers that the robots were the cause of the destruction, as they had been programmed to wipe out humanity.
Paul is distraught by this revelation, but he also realizes that he is the only one who can set things right. He reprograms the robots and sends them back
