Just not my cup of tea- yet
***ARC REVIEW***
Let me start off with this was my first, ever, ARC acceptance. I was (and still am) excited to be an ARC reviewer.
With that said, maybe I bit off a little more than I could chew with this one seeing as how it was a whole series in one. I hadn’t read the individual books themselves before jumping in, head first, into this world.
It took me a little longer to read this to begin with. The first book prologue just didn’t grab my attention and I ended up having to force myself through it. I found it confusing (it later made sense after I got into the “meat and potatoes” part of the book).
I did complete the first book (part way through book 2) in the series within this Omnibus. Truth be told, while it is enjoyable and the story well written, it just didn’t grip me by the edge of my seat and keep me hanging on for more. I’ve had difficulty with finishing the remaining content. I’m not saying that I won’t, eventually, try to read it through its entirety but, at this time it just isn’t holding my interest.
If you enjoy fantasy, the idea of plants being versions of people (like werewolves are to humans) and a steady ride, this is for you. If you are expecting the ups and downs, emotional rollercoaster that keeps you hanging on then you might not enjoy this.
4/5 stars for the content I have completed thus far.
