Zack’s always been the funny guy, but with the deterioration of his sight and the loss of his father, the laughter has begun to dry up. Having recently discovered he has a brother due to his father’s infidelity, he’s questioning everything he thought he knew. To top it all off, the epic brush-off from Bonnie Pierce a few months back has Zack feeling less than.
Bonnie thought she’d feel better about herself after giving Zack a taste of his own medicine, but all it did was stoke an old flame, bringing up feelings she probably shouldn’t explore. When she ends up embroiled in his current case, they both realize their pasts are about to set their worlds afire.
The guest house behind Simon’s home has become her gilded cage, and Bonnie resents her brothers’ overprotectiveness even though they mean well. When Zack stumbles upon her horrific secret, she has no choice but to turn to the man she’s always loved.
In the end, Zack struggles to be enough of a man to protect the woman he has finally gotten a second chance with, even though he can’t even see her.

Second Chance Romantic Suspense
As a child, Zack knew early on that Bonnie was the one for him. When he found out he would eventually lose his sight, he believed he couldn't be the man Bonnie needed him to be. So he took the choice away from her and placed himself in a situation where she would catch him kissing her best friend. Broken hearted, Bonnie left town to attend Baylor. Zack loved her so much, he caved under the infamous Pierce family and pushed her away.
Trying to fill the void left by Bonnie, he excels in one night stands and work. Zack works for Pierce Securities. Quentin Pierce, a person Zack once considered his brother, is unrelenting in his mistreatment of Zack. Quentin can't seem to forgive Zack for breaking his sister's heart. When Zack learns of Bonnie's stalker, he's livid. He feels somewhat responsible since his actions sent her to Baylor, where she was stalked. When Zack's current case brings Bonnie face to face with her stalker, he decides to keep her close.
For an exciting short read, this is the book for you. If you don't like cliffhangers, this may not be your cup of tea. I felt as though I was left hanging as there were several "loose ends" left unanswered. That being said, I loved Zack as the hero. His feelings of inadequacy were spot on. I received a gifted copy and all opinions stated are my own.
Addictive!
As an avid fan of Conley’s Pierce Security series, I’ve been curious about Zack and the Pierce sister for some time now. In Seek, all of my questions are answered… I get the backstory. It’s amazing because while I love drama and enjoy the whole second-chance aspect here.
We see a little more of Deena Rae, who rocks and the Andrew who I’ve come to love to loathe. Conley’s character development is ON POINT as always and I just love being lost in this series. So much so, that I read Seek in just one sitting, blowing off all of that pesky real-world stuff that usually keeps me from reading at all.
Oh, and there’s a heat factor of course. It’s playful in this one.
The narration is witty and made me laugh out loud at times, but also keeping it read.
Highly recommend this book - and all the rest in this series!
4.5 stars.
Anne Conley is a GENIUS!!
THis is Zak and Bonnies book. This is the book about their relationship from childhood to now in adulthood. In this book we see Zak lose his eyesight and how he learns how to cope with his other senses and also gets Bonnie in the end.
