Publisher Description
Hundreds of books have been written on the art of writing. Here at last is a book by two professional editors to teach writers the techniques of the editing trade that turn promising manuscripts into published novels and short stories.
In this completely revised and updated second edition, Renni Browne and Dave King teach you, the writer, how to apply the editing techniques they have developed to your own work. Chapters on dialogue, exposition, point of view, interior monologue, and other techniques take you through the same processes an expert editor would go through to perfect your manuscript. Each point is illustrated with examples, many drawn from the hundreds of books Browne and King have edited.

Helpful
As a new writer editing my fiction work, I was blown away by the pro tips this book provided. Thank you, Renni Browne and Dave King.
The best
If you're done with your manuscript, read this one! I highly recommend this for new authors whose books are in the editing stage.
Inspirational & intimidating
Writing a review on this superb guide feels somewhat foolhardy - I'll have to edit this review after I write it, won't I?
I was recommend this book after a highly respected author read 3 chapters of my first novel... oh the pain she must have endured. After reading the whole book, each completing each assignment (you MUST do the exercises!) I clearly understand why she recommended the book. I've got lightyears of work ahead, but I know I'm better prepared to tackle my task.
