Sense and Sensibility is a novel by British female novelist Jane Austen. The novel describes the mate-choosing activities of the two protagonists and focused on revealing the ugly fashion of women seeking economic security, improving economic status in British society with marriage and focusing on the family background while ignoring the women’s rights. The heroines in the novel all pursue equal communication with men in thoughts and feelings, demand equal rights in social status, and insist on the freedom of independent observation, analysis and choice of men. In Britain at the time, it was almost tantamount to resistance.
