Great story
I really enjoyed this story by Laura Greenwood. I thought it was great. I couldn't put it down. I couldn't wait to see what happened next between Wadjet and Kherty. Wadjet needs Kherty to take her down the Nile to help her restore her powers after she was weakened from her captivity. During their journey, they begin getting closer. Will she get her powers back?

Kherty & Wadjet
Wadjet has just returned to the Karnak temple after her stay at Seth’s compound as his involuntary guest. Wadjet is the snake protector goddess of Lower Egypt. Wadjet has slowly lost her ability to speak with snakes and to transform into her naga form where she looks half human and half snake. The world has gradually stopped believing in gods and goddesses. The world no longer worships the immortal gods. The immortal god’s strength and magic comes from the people who worship them. Since the world has forgotten her name and no one worships her, her magic has become weaker.
Wadget needs to embark in a quest to regain some of her magic. To do this Wadjet believes she must return to Imet which is the place she was created to gain some of her magic back. If that does not work she must find Nekhbet and reaffirm their bond as the goddesses of Upper and Lower Egypt. Will Wadjet be able to find what she needs to regain her magic before it is too late?
Wadget has enlisted the help of Kherty who owes her a favor. Kherty is in charge of Ra’s barge. Kherty takes Wadjet on his barge and they sail on the Nile River to Imet. During their journey they grow closer. They have an easy camaraderie and enjoy each other’s company. They are two lost souls who do not realize at first that they need each other.
This was a delightful story. If you love Egyptian mythology you will enjoy this story. Wadget and Kherty are charmed by each other. They find they savor the time they spend together. They have great chemistry. It was nice to see them slowly fall for each other. This is the seventh book in the Forgotten gods series. It was nice to see other gods and goddesses from previous books in this adventure. The interactions between the gods will keep you wanting more. The story flows from the first page and you cannot stop reading. The author has created an amazing enchanted world. I cannot wait for the next book in this series.
