Upon arrival, the monstrous King Osric appoints Kenna as maidservant to Lara, heir of Earth House, during the Fae trials, a tournament that grants the victors immortality and magic. Though this is meant as an insult, there are advantages: magicless Kenna can go where the fairies cannot and illegally help Lara in the trials. When charismatic Prince Drustan of Fire House and mysterious Lord Kallen of Void House also realize how useful a human spy can be, Kenna is swept into court machinations that could lead either to her freedom or to her death. I need book 2 stat!!!!!!!!!!!
Nooo! Book 2 can’t come soon enough. This was a very entertaining read and I had a hard time putting it down. The story line was strong and moved at a fast pace, the characters were interesting and well developed, there was just enough romance without it being campy or over shadowing the plot. I just wish book 2 was out so I don’t have to wait for it! I will definitely be reading more from Sarah Hawley. ❤️
